INC Group identified the need to produce a carbon tracker, along with a business-oriented hotspot analysis and roadmap for decarbonisation. It was essential that the Group’s carbon calculation process and reporting would stand up to scrutiny and be measured against global standards. Therefore, a partnership with AESG, a reputable sustainability consultant that advises clients on a global basis, was formed.

AESG provide carbon accounting and reporting services, in accordance with industry standards and guidance, including the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol. INC undertakes a full carbon calculation of its three regions to understand its in-house CO2 emissions. This is performed on an annual basis to produce benchmarks and a platform of recommendations to reduce its impact.

Reinvestment Into Decarbonization

INC is currently working with the Carbon Reserve to reinvest our Group carbon emission total into global carbon mitigation initiatives. The Carbon Reserve is an independent foundation providing market infrastructure to open carbon markets to global communities and help accelerate the demand for decarbonisation.

The organisation supports a global digital currency called TOCO, which is based on verified atmospheric carbon reductions. Each TOCO represents one tonne (t) of carbon removed from the atmosphere. The Carbon Reserve holds a portfolio of carbon mitigation assets (CMAs). A CMA is any instrument generated as part of a scheme, project, or programme that reduces or offsets atmospheric carbon. CMAs are measured in metric tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent greenhouse gasses (tCO2e) removed from the atmosphere.

We have merged the latest Carbon Calculations from the three regions, to better understand the Carbon impact on a project-by-project basis in each region. We can now offer our clients a full carbon mitigation package which will align with their ESG commitments. INC will be the first in the industry to offer such an initiative.
