INC Group are proud to support ‘Surge for Water’, a charity that invests in communities through safe water, sanitation, hygiene, and menstrual health solutions to help end the cycle of poverty.
Founded in 2008 by Shilpa Alva, Surge celebrated its 10th Annual ‘Design, Dine and Make a Difference’ event in Dubai on Thursday 7th December 2023. In addition to being a sold-out event, the evening was a record-breaking success in raising its target donations.
Every year, the region’s Architecture and Design community comes together to celebrate sustainable designs in support of Surge’s mission. This year’s theme, ‘Design Through the Decades’ challenged designers to create a conscious piece that pays tribute to the defining eras of the 20s, 50s, 70s, and 90s. These iconic periods significantly influenced the diverse realms of design, spanning from the fine and decorative arts to fashion, film, photography, and product design.
The donations raised at said galas contribute to the establishment of wells, springs, and rainwater harvesting systems. Additionally, they support the installation of water filters for households and communities, the construction of sanitary facilities, and the execution of tailored education programs focusing on hygiene and menstrual health on a global scale. Surge is currently engaged in implementing comprehensive, community-driven initiatives in Haiti, the Philippines, and Uganda. Through their efforts, substantial improvements have been achieved in infrastructure, health, dignity, education, income, and various other aspects of overall well-being. These sustained efforts ensure lasting benefits that extend to future generations.
