Introducing INC Groups ‘ESG-Commit’

As of January 1st, 2024,
INC Group solidified their long standing ESG efforts by creating its new policy, ESG – COMMIT

ESG, representing Environmental, Societal, and Governance considerations, serves as a guiding framework for businesses, defining their operations, business model, and sustainability endeavors. At INC Group, we assess our endeavors through the prism of ESG, ensuring attentiveness to the needs of all stakeholders while striving to be a force for good. Embracing the ethos of accountability, we remain steadfast in our commitment to ethical conduct.

Incorporating ESG initiatives into INC is integral to the Groups’ beliefs and goals in transforming the societies it serves into improved places. We aim to live up to these beliefs by being responsible corporate citizens with a strict governance framework, reducing our environmental footprint and making a positive impact on the local, regional, and global communities we work and live in.

Message from the Group CEO – Sean Nicholson

“From our inception, INC Group has been governed by key investment and management principles that have a positive impact on our people and the planet. Our ongoing ESG commitments underscore our belief in our ability to contribute to making the world a better place and safeguarding the common good. As we are accountable for our actions in the long run, I am delighted to announce the establishment of ESG COMMIT within INC Group. ESG COMMIT will implement, oversee, deliver, and report our social and environmental goals across our operations in the Middle East and Africa, ultimately increasing our triple bottom line. This expanded form of governance and commitment will ensure INC Group continues to be a force for good.”

ESG and the Design Industry

Implementing strict ESG policies have become increasingly important for interior design and fit-out companies for several reasons:

  1. Interior design involves the use of various materials, many of which can have significant environmental impacts during production, use, and disposal. ESG policies help the design sector minimize its ecological footprint by promoting sustainable materials, energy-efficient designs and waste-reduction practices.
  1. ESG considerations extend beyond environmental concerns to social factors such as labour practices, human rights, and community engagement. INC Group demonstrate their commitment to social responsibility by ensuring fair labour practices in their supply chain, supporting diversity and inclusion, and contributing positively to its communities across the UAE, KSA and Africa.
  1. By incorporating ESG into operation, businesses can create value for stakeholders, strengthen their brand, and contribute to a more sustainable and equal future. With growing awareness of sustainability and social responsibility among consumers, businesses, and investors, ESG performance has become a key differentiator in the marketplace. Interior design companies that prioritize ESG initiatives can distinguish themselves from competitors, attract a broader customer base, and access new market opportunities. By aligning their brand with values that resonate with stakeholders, companies can enhance their competitiveness and position themselves for long-term success.
